Discovery Day at Arundel Museum - Interactive workshops for children

Mar 7, 2026

10:15 - 15:30

Join us at Arundel Museum for a Discovery Day on Saturday 7 March.

Three interactive workshops for children ages 4-11 and one author talk with book signing in one day - to inspire children to get reading and be creative…
Workshops:
10.15 Dogs Hear stories and draw dogs – Local artist and dog owner Josse Davis shares some fun stories and demonstrates how to draw different types of four-legged friends. Come along and be inspired to make up your own dog-themed tale (or tail)!

11.30-12.30: Birds Hear stories and identify habitats - Learn all about the many different types of birds that live and visit our local habitats: beaches, riverbanks, the Downs and even your own back garden. Bird expert Simon will give you tips, ideas and an identification sheet to help you become an expert birdwatcher. There may even be a bird story, too!

2.30 - 3.30: The Wyvern Dragon of Arundel Castle Do you know your mythical creatures? Do you know the difference between a wyvern and a dragon? Arundel Castle guide, Vicky, will read The Wyvern of Arundel Castle by Ray Lear and Kathy Creamer, so you can find out! Colour in your own castle and maybe even make up your own mythical creature!

Tickets: £2.50 per session or £5 for all 3.

In addition
1-2pm Talk: Victorians in Arundel - A talk by Nicolas Travers and a chance to buy his book. Ages 13+/adult.
£5 per ticket.
Tickets available from Arundel Museum.
