Ferring Community Cinema: The Ballad of Wallis Island

Feb 13, 2026

19:00 - 21:30

An eccentric lottery winner (Tim Key), who lives alone on a remote island, tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favourite musicians back together to perform for him. When the musicians, McGwyer and Mortimer, played by Tom Basden and Carey Mulligan, accept, old tensions are bound to resurface.

Key and Basden, who have collaborated on many comedy projects, wrote the script for this film, which is described as a funny and melancholic piece of work. It looks to be a very enjoyable watch.

The film will be showing at Ferring Village Hall. Tickets are £6 and available at the North Ferring Co-Op, the Premier Stores in South Ferring, and on the door on the night. Ticket price includes tea, coffee or a soft drink, and biscuits. Doors open at 6.30pm for a prompt 7pm start.
