A talk by Matthew Jones (Assistant County Archivist) on the Second World War Home Front in Bognor Regis. When war broke out, photographer Frank L’Alouette was unable to join up due to a heart condition, but he obtained a Ministry of Information Permit and was able to capture some of the wartime events in and around Bognor Regis. His several hundred photographs show the impact and the experiences of Bognor Regis as a town and community during the war. The West Sussex Record Office has held Frank’s collection since 2012 and Matthew Jones will show a selection of these images in his presentation, which follows the RHA AGM.
Entry is free for paid up members of Rustington Heritage Association. Visitors £5 (cash only) payable at the door. All admissions subject to availability of seats on arrival. Why not become an RHA member? Just £15 per person per annum for free entry to all our talks in 2026.
