Feb 13, 2026

19:00 - 21:30

Ferring Community Cinema will be showing their next film, ‘The Ballad of Wallis Islandon Friday 13th February 2026.

An eccentric lottery winner, who lives alone on a remote island, tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favourite folk duo back together.  Problem is, they haven’t seen each other, or performed together, for years.  When they are finally reunited their meeting isn’t harmonious and the hoped for performance looks increasingly unlikely.

This British comedy-drama stars Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden and was filmed in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Co-written by Tom Basden, the writer of the BBC comedy ‘Here We Go’, The Ballad of Wallis Island provides a mix of music and comedy and has been described as feeling like ‘a warm hug’ – a perfect film for February.

The film will be showing at Ferring Village Hall.  Tickets are £6 and available at the North Ferring Co-Op, the Premier Stores in South Ferring, and on the door on the night. Ticket price includes tea, coffee or a soft drink, and biscuits.  Doors open at 6.30pm for a prompt 7.00pm start.
