The South of England has a host of historic industries, the signs of many of which are with us today - glass in the Surrey Weald and iron in Sussex and Kent, as well as shipbuilding, a huge variety of agricultural industries, seaside leisure industries and the military industries at naval bases and fortifications. In this talk, Geoffrey Mead will reveal examples of the South at work over the centuries.
