Debussy’s evocative seascape 'La Mer' is performed for the first time ever by the WPO. The orchestra also continues its cycle of the Sibelius symphonies with his Symphony No. 5, the last movement of which famously presents a theme inspired by a flock of swans in flight.
At the centre of the programme is the 'Blue Wave Concerto' by local composer, Chaz Hart. The concerto was finished in 2020 and inspired by his trips to Key West, Sierra Nevada, and the Grand Canyon.
The WPO is thrilled to welcome the acclaimed local guitarist Paul Gregory as soloist.
