Family Geology Day 2026 at Rustington Museum

Ray Cooper, Littlehampton

The WSGS are returning for a second year.

With a one day event in partnership with the Rustington Museum, we will be talking to anybody, young and old, interested in fossils, rocks, minerals, dinosaurs and any related subject that you are interested in, to do with Geology and Palaeontology and have 'hands-on come and see' examples of items and actual specimens belonging to society members.
There will also be a visitor 'show and tell', where we will attempt to Identify any fossil, rock or mineral specimens that visitors may like to bring along.
In addition there will be an affordable original & pre-owned geology book sales at 'pocket money' prices.
Plus our ever popular Lucky Dips for the children.
So if you don't know anything about Geology but want to learn a little, then do come along to meet and talk to our 'guys & gals'. It is always low key but interesting, and who knows you may want to join the WSGS.
Visit our website for the West Sussex Geological Society at www.wsgs.org.uk for all the latest meetings and events info.

The Arts Society Arun, Rustington
This month's talk is by Jackie-Marsh Hobbs, "Regeneration of The British Seaside Resort".

Doors open 9.30am. Everyone welcome. Guests £7 on the door. Coffee & biscuits available. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. For more information, please email [email protected]

EAST PRESTON AND KINGSTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY, Littlehampton
East Preston & Kingston Horticultural Society is delighted to announce its annual Flower Show on Saturday, 1st August, taking place in the Village Hall and on the Warren Recreation Ground.  And it’s far more than flowers – or even fruit and veg.  Whether you fancy winning a trophy or simply enjoy a creative challenge, you can enter cookery, handicraft, and photography as well.  There are dedicated children’s classes, and younger exhibitors are welcome to join the adult categories too.

All exhibits will be on display from 2pm in the Village Hall, while the recreation ground will be buzzing with entertainment.  Expect a Fun Dog Show, Lancing Brass Band, Robbie the Magician, sideshows, stalls, tea and cakes, a raffle, and ice cream.  Admission is free.

Love gardening, floral art, baking, handicraft or photography?  Then why not exhibit?  Your entries are the heart of the Show.  If you’d like to take part but don’t yet have a schedule, please pick one up from Dizzy (the diabetes charity shop in Sea Road, East Preston) or phone Celia Buckley on 01903 782191 or 01903 778921.  Entries close at 4pm on Wednesday, 29th July
